Christina’s Medical Expenses and Family Support

Catastrophic Loss
California
Created December 31st, 2023

Christina has always been the first one to ask what others need- she always has a way to rally entire communities to get needs met when they arise. It is now our time to rally around the Laughlin Family and offer support to Christina, Chris, and Sophia.

The day after Christmas, Christina was rushed to the ER. Shortly thereafter she received a devastating diagnosis of Lung Cancer. There is a lot of unknowns at this time and a treatment plan is currently being developed.

What we do know at this time is that this amazing woman needs us. The people she’s always supported need to stand up and lift her and her family up. We also know that there are going to be big medical bills coming, missed work hours for Chris, travel time for treatments, and adjustment to this new reality this amazing family is navigating.

No amount is too small, getting the word out is equally important and greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your time and consideration,

Kaitlyn

Good afternoon ,

Just a short 3 weeks ago Christina called me to share her diagnosis. There were so many unknowns.. a lot of fear.. sadness.. and all the emotions that can be expected across a spectrum of sharing and hearing news like this. It’s hard to believe she’s gone. I still find myself wanting to send her a message or share something trivial with her.

In the coming days, weeks, months , and years Chris and Sophia are left to pick up the pieces and navigate a new normal. Please continue to share the fundraiser and help get to the goal. I appreciate so much all the support that everyone has given thus far.

As there are further updates , I will continue to share them.

Good morning -
I am coming to update everyone that as of yesterday afternoon Christina took her last breath and crossed into final eternity.
This is devastating news and comes as a shock to many.
Christina dedicated her life to serving and supporting others. Even in her final moments her concerns were making sure Chris and Sophia will be taken care of.
The world is a darker place without the guiding light of Christina to lead the way.
As details are released for services I will share. Thank you all for everything you have done and continue to do.
Please feel free to email me with questions and I’ll do my best to get them answered. [email protected]

Please continue to share as on many platforms as possible to spread the word. They need us more than ever right now.

I just wanted to take the time to share some pictures of Christina, Sophia, and Chris throughout the years. Such a beautiful family.

How many times can we say that Christina stopped everything to help us? Countless times.

How many times can we say that Christina would do anything she could to help a friend or a stranger? Countless times.

She had all the time in the world to help someone else, and now more than ever she desperately needs our help for a change.

Because her time with us is now very short.

We received devastating news about Christina’s condition. The unthinkable is happening — we are going to lose her.

Chris and Sophia are going to lose her.

It is our turn to drop everything and help.

We are inching closer toward our goal to provide some comfort and support to this selfless, compassionate family. But we still need more.

Our goal is $50,000. We are less than halfway there.

Christina was never one for going only halfway. She was a lifelong Girl Scout supporter, she lifted her Lathrop community up during the pandemic, supporting continuing education for our kids. As the wife of a first responder, she always wrapped her arms around the profession and its people.

Let’s be like Christina and honor her life and all that she is to us by not going halfway either. Let’s meet our goal.
