Critically injured Florida State, Trooper
Their story
Trooper Maverick Soto was working a traffic detail in support of Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) operations at a construction site. While positioned to provide warning and protection for road workers in the immediate area, his FHP Dodge Charger was struck by a 2026 Toyota Tundra pickup truck. As a result of this collision, Trooper Soto sustained serious injuries and was medevacked to Orlando Regional Medical Center for advanced medical treatment. Trooper Soto is currently in stable condition receiving treatment from medical professionals. The investigation remains active. FHP personnel worked diligently to ensure Trooper Soto's wife was able to be by his side at the hospital as quickly as possible. We are grateful to the medical professionals who provide his care and remain hopeful for his continued recovery.
Crashes such as these serve as a stark reminder of the inherent dangers associated with the work of a state trooper. Those dangers are only magnified by Florida's unprecedented growth, increasing traffic volumes, and expanding transportation infrastructure.
The Soto family and their loved ones remain in our thoughts and prayers. Please support the Soto family !!!
