David Curtis tragically left us on July 4th, 2026. He was a beloved member of the Watertown community and Codington County Law Enforcement. Dave’s death was something Darce was not emotionally or financially prepared for. Such a great guy he will be missed by many!
Dave was so good to my son while in jail. He went out of his way to show he cared about them, giving aspirin, buying socks out of his own money, and just asking if they wanted to talk. Thank you Dave you’ll be missed so much.

Great guy I knew years ago in the emergency department and he never had me empty pockets when entering court house as we had gone back decades…
Going to the Courthouse just will not be the same without Dave's friendly greeting. We will miss him. We will pray for his family to know God's peace in this time of unexpected transition.
