Created April 3rd, 2024
Ariel Hernandez, a deputy in the Upstate of South Carolina, was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident on April 2, 2024 while he was off-duty. He was life-flighted from the scene and has already undergone multiple emergency surgeries, with the possibility of needing more in the near future. The fact that he is still alive is a miracle. His young wife is by his side, along with both of their parents. .Ariel is a dedicated law enforcement officer who has selflessly served the people of Greenville County. He is a man of faith and is constantly giving of himself to help others.
.
The Blue Crew nonprofit is organizing this fundraiser to assist with the insurmountable medical bills and any other needs the Hernandez family may have. This is the only official fundraiser for them.

"He is doing well with recovery. All of his major surgeries went well with only one remaining that the doctors are talking about right now. He has good days where he is talkative and a little more conscious and other days where he is out of it and is asleep. Not many updates to give, but no updates at this point isn't necessarily a bad thing. Again, thank you all for your prayers and support."

“Ariel was extubated today and is talking a little on his own. He still has a lot of healing to do and more surgeries to come, but we are so thankful for how far he’s come already. Please keep the prayers coming!”

Ariel came through his many surgeries as well as could be expected. It will be a few weeks before he goes into surgery again, so the focus right now is for him to rest. I don’t think any update can accurately reflect how miraculous it is that he has made it this far. Please pray for continued healing for Ariel and for strength and encouragement for his wife and family. There is still a long road ahead.

Update 4/4/24: “Thank you everyone for your donations and for your prayers. Ariel is defying all odds stacked against him and is coherent at times. He is still heavily sedated and has undergone multiple major surgeries with multiple more to come. Ariel’s next surgery requires surgeons to reconnect his skull to his neck. Ariel is going to have a long road to recovery, but he is showing his strength and determination. Please continue to pray for him, his family, his friends, and his coworkers. From all of us involved, thank you for everything.”
