Please help us support Caitlyn and her children after the devastating loss of her husband, Detective Christopher Skrobot on Thursday, February 5th, 2026, after a courageous battle of cancer. All proceeds will go to Detective Skrobot's family for the future needs of his children, Hunter and Madison.
Detective Christopher Skrobot began his distinguished career with the New Castle County Police Department on January 19th, 2016, as a member if the 42nd Recruit Class. Following his graduation from the Police Academy, he was assigned to B-Squad in the Patrol Division, where he quickly earned a reputation as a dedicated officer who led by example, consistently demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a strong commitment to the community.
In October 2020, after completing the rigorous Police Motorcycle Operators Course, he became a certified member of the New Castle County Police Motorcycle Unit, where he proudly rode a motorcycle for escorts, parades, and special events. In December 2020, Detective Skrobot was transferred to the Evidence Detective Unit, where he made an immediate impact and quickly established himself as a thorough, meticulous investigator, a role he held for the remainder of his career.
Detective Skrobot was also a dedicated volunteer with the Claymont Fire Company, committing himself to public service, a commitment that remained at the heart of his career. Along with the volunteer fire service, Detective Skrobot took multiple tours out west as a Wildland Firefighter.
In April 2024, Chris was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), a form of blood cancer. Despite this challenge, he continued to serve his community and support his family with courage and dedication.

Thoughts and prayers to your family
Prayers from TN.
I am so sorry for the loss of such a sweet soul. I will always remember coaching Chris and Anna when they were so little. I remember the swim team sleepovers, the Darley after swim team parties, the lazy days at the pool. I’ve been following Chris’s progress over the last two years. My heart was really sad when I talked to Emily on Wednesday and she said he wasn’t doing so well. I was heartbroken to hear that he passed away only a day later. It brought me to tears and I have felt your loss in my heart ever since. I feel so honored to have known your family. When everything dies down, and you really feel the loss in the quiet moments…know that you are all in my prayers. That is when it becomes the hardest. Know that you are all so strong and you will get through this with love and support from family and friends. What a wonderful tribute to a life well lived. God bless your family. Love, The Skinner’s (Tara and Billy)
