Stockton Firefighters are heartbroken. Our friend and brother Captain Max Fortuna was tragically taken from us. A 21 year veteran of the Stockton Fire Department, Captain Fortuna was on Engine 2 at an outdoor fire when he was struck by gunfire at the scene. It is a devastating loss for his wife, two children, family, and our fire department. We are working on details for his services, and will update as more information becomes available. We love you Max.

God Bless R.I.P
$100 is from a good friend of ours, Scott McKinney (retired Cal Fire), who wanted to contribute.
We, the Brothers and Sisters of United EMS Workers AFSCME Local 4911, were shocked and saddened to hear the news of Captain Max Fortuna’s passing and wish to extend our deepest sympathies during this time. As a public servant, Captain Fortuna served the community of Stockton with virtue and amenity but to us, Max was known for his humor and his friendly banter with crews. Many of our veteran members have fond memories of working beside Max on an ambulance during his time as an EMT before he entered the fire service. The citizens of Stockton were blessed to have Max serving them for over twenty years. He will be greatly missed by this community and by us as fellow first responders in Stockton. Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers during this time of grief.
