I am Gary "Chops" Polk, a disabled combat Marine. I served in the 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance, Delta Company, stationed out of 29 Palms, California. I served 4 tours in Iraq, and was awarded a Purple Heart. I have struggled the last few years, dealing with pain and mental health issues stemming from my time in combat. I spend much of my time with Freedom Valley Farms (freedomvalleyfarmsunited.com), which I own and operated by myself. Crops include produce flowers, pumpkins, cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes, herbs, spices, etc. The produce or proceeds from the sales contributes to the care of other veterans, and community members, and the expansion of the farms.
