Friends and family are asking for your help in assisting a fellow Detective and 28-year member of the NYPD. John Edgar a Detective with the FBI task force in CEIS was a first responder during the 9/11 attacks and is now in the hospital in desperate need of a double lung transplant due to 9/11 related causes. Because of the mounting medical expenses and the extensive care and rehabilitation that John will need after surgery; we are asking for your help in coming together to assist John and his family through this difficult time. Today is a great day! John is awake and was able to come off of the ventilator this afternoon, he is presently with his family :)

UPDATE: John received a phone call this morning that they had a pair of lungs for him!!! He is presently in surgery....keep John in your thoughts and prayers!!!

John was always there for everyone, grumpy and funny with a heart of gold. I'll never forget his sense of humor, like the time he wrote a parker to a traffic agent van—praying for his full recovery and strength during this difficult time.
