This week, our community lost a dedicated Spartanburg County Deputy — a father, a partner, and a protector who gave himself to serving others.
Deputy Tyler Martin leaves behind his fiancée, Lauren, and two young children — Tillman, age 7, and Bowman, age 4 — who are now navigating an unimaginable loss while facing very real and immediate financial needs.
His passing was sudden and devastating, and the family has been left without their provider overnight. Lauren is not in a position to return to work right now — she is doing the hard, sacred work of holding her family together and helping two small children process the loss of their dad.
Every dollar raised goes directly to this family — for rent, groceries, utilities, childcare, and the breathing room they need to grieve without the weight of financial crisis pressing down on them.
If you've ever been protected and served by the men and women of the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office — or if you simply believe that a family in crisis deserves to be caught by their community — please give what you can.
Share this with anyone who knew Tyler, loved this family, or believes in showing up for people when it matters most.

You don't know me, but I know a little bit about your story. Our situations are very different, but I can empathize with losing the one you love the most. The biggest blessing has been how our community has shown up for us, even from different states, so now I'll take some of that & pay it forward to you. From one grieving, devastated Lauren to another, from Washington State to the Carolinas, I pray every day that God will give you peace & bring you comfort. Hang in there, mama, & give yourself grace in this season. Just one step at a time. No expectations, no hard & fast rules, just do what it takes to survive the day. You should never have to experience this & life is so unfair, but I am proud of you for handling something you never asked for with strength & dignity. You & your babies are so loved.
I cannot fathom what you are going through Lauren. May the Lord bless you and keep you as you navigate this loss while simultaneously holding your family together.
We are so sorry that y’all are going through this. We are praying for you and are here if you need anything.
Thank you for your service to our community, Tyler. May you rest in peace. Praying for your family and those who loved you and must go on without you , especially your fiancé and beautiful children 🙏🏻
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family 💙🖤
