This week, our community lost a dedicated Spartanburg County Deputy — a father, a partner, and a protector who gave himself to serving others.
Deputy Tyler Martin leaves behind his fiancée, Lauren, and two young children — Tillman, age 7, and Bowman, age 4 — who are now navigating an unimaginable loss while facing very real and immediate financial needs.
His passing was sudden and devastating, and the family has been left without their provider overnight. Lauren is not in a position to return to work right now — she is doing the hard, sacred work of holding her family together and helping two small children process the loss of their dad.
Every dollar raised goes directly to this family — for rent, groceries, utilities, childcare, and the breathing room they need to grieve without the weight of financial crisis pressing down on them.
If you've ever been protected and served by the men and women of the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office — or if you simply believe that a family in crisis deserves to be caught by their community — please give what you can.
Share this with anyone who knew Tyler, loved this family, or believes in showing up for people when it matters most.

Tyler used my court for his cases. He was always great to work with, sweet and funny, he liked to just talk to me in my office. Tyler tried to help everyone, the defendants, his partner Diffie and our court as well as me personally. My heart aches for his family and friends and those who loved him. Say his name, Tyler Martin. He will never be forgotten.
