What happened August 26, 2021 in Kabul, Afghanistan was devastating.
13 service members lost their lives and at least 13 knocks to notify family members occurred in the late hours and early morning hours. There is nothing worse than the loss of life in such a horrific way. However standing in a family member's living room, watching them cope with the words they just heard and then listening to them call every family member they know to also let them know about their loss, comes pretty close to death.
August 26th 13 service members were killed and within 24 hours, 13 families were destroyed by the news they received after that knock on their door. Decisions have consequences and now those consequences are literally impacting the families of the 13 service members killed, as well as all that were wounded.
Let's band together to show these family members we support them in this incredible tragedy. Your single donation will go directly to the family members of those service members who lost their lives.
Your condolences, kind words, and words of encouragement will also be sent to these families to show them that America stands with them.
The Fund the First team knows and understands the outrage, heartache, and the other myriad of emotions all military families and Americans are feeling, as one of our Co-Founders and COO, is an active duty Marine Corps wife. We care. We're here. We're family.
