First, I didn't know how much or what to ask for...
Who would have thought that a category 2 or 3 hurricane would take a right turn straight into Fort Myers, only 2 mph under a category 5 hurricane?! Only 4 days before my 55th birthday, this is what happened...
My home in Siesta Bay RV Resort very near the eye was hit with Ian's fury, and worse... the 12 ft surge waters that filled my home up 2 ft from the ceiling,. Everything soaked in the disgusting water and muck the surge waters brought with it.
My 1984 home was not insured due to its age.
The cabinets and walls bulged and crumbled, my wood furniture cracked, fabric furniture soaked and stained from the stenching water and muck. Electronics, appliances , photos, heirlooms, pictures/art clothing......all of it destroyed.
My motorcycle covered by the surge, unsure if it is salvageable.
I filed with FEMA , motorcycle and my contents insurance , now waiting...
I have my job thank goodness!
I am looking for help with living costs and hopes to purchase an RV to live in so next time i can drive away to safety. It is just me and my Cat Bella. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Well I had a breakdown today still nothing from FEMA or SBA . It is so difficult not knowing anything from either no funds no help no direction no nothing just it's being reviewed you have to wait! So frustrating I can't make a plan I can't have an idea just waiting. My stress level is off the chart! I feel for the thousands of other people that are probably going through the same thing waiting not knowing struggling suffering with huge losses and God forbid lives. But still taking each day in stride hoping that it'll eventually come to an end.
Well, still struggling each day without help from FEMA nor SBA ,both are still reviewing case, Eating out is costing a bundle without kitchen facilities. Friends and others have donated clothes, purses, shoes, hair care which has been a blessing.I was able to do some power washing to make s little extra money for food. Just taking it day by day.
So finally internet is on, STL waiting on SBA and FEMA both say they are still reviewing. Still homeless, am able to stay on a friend's couch for a bit, and able to work from there since internet is finally up. A few friends have donated clothes, funds and personal items to help out. I am so blessed there. I really just want a home again and closure on this mess so I can figure out how to do that. I am staying strong while my money to eat and live daily is dwindling as my budget did not cover rating out or buying new clothes and stuff. My home needs to be demolished, hopefully I can rebuild there , as it was my happy place, but I am open to an RV, condo or something... Been doing some side jobs for extra money this week.
Still nothing from Insurance, FEMA, SBA, like many others no wifi. A friend has some clothes for me today and my work got a litter box for Bella kitty.
So today was a little aggravating I had to fill out an SBA loan form before they would review my FEMA request I did it on my phone and it was a very long process but I got it done so hopefully next week I should hear something from FEMA I'm hoping let's cross our fingers this is such a grueling aggravating upsetting time, but I am muddling through and doing everything I can to get back to normalcy.
