Just two days after celebrating her 40th birthday, my wife received the devastating news of a breast cancer diagnosis. It's a shock that has rocked our world, but we're determined to face it head-on with courage and hope.
In the coming weeks, she'll undergo a double mastectomy followed by reconstructive surgeries. The road to recovery is daunting, with doctors estimating an 8 to 12-week journey ahead. Unfortunately, this also means navigating periods of unpaid time off work and a significant reduction in income.
For those who know my wife, you understand she's not one to ask for help, especially when it comes to financial support. But the reality is, we're grappling with the weight of medical copays, hospital bills, and everyday living expenses that pile up quickly.
