As some of you may know, Manheim Township Police Department added two new K9's to their department last year. What you may not know is that K9's Zeke and Ruck do not yet have the proper body armor that will make fighting crime safer for them!
Our family would like to change that! We are working to collect donations for body armor from LOF Defence that will protect Zeke and Ruck since they have been working so hard to protect their community.
If you haven't yet met K9 Zeke or K9 Ruck, here is what their colleagues have to say!
"Ruck was actually born in Canada! His favorite part about the USA is Hersheypark, for training, of course. He enjoys the fun rides too but not very many because he's only a "Hershey Miniature"."
"While Zeke’s ultimate goal was to become a Police K9, his true calling was the rodeo. Every time Zeke is let out of his crate he sprints outside, where he spins and bucks because he can’t control his excitement. I’ve never seen anything like it. Zeke would surely give any rodeo bronco a run for their money. Once that’s out of Zeke’s system he’s just like any other dog, waiting impatiently to play ball."
If you ask us, I think their true calling was modeling… or maybe that is just Officer Michele Klinger's (the amazing photographer behind these awesome photos) remarkable eye for detail? Maybe both!
Most of the fundraising will be online, however we do have a few local businesses that have agreed to put up a jar for the cause! A big thank you to Bassett and Lab for their help in this! More businesses will be added on as the details are finalized.
For anyone wanting to help in other ways, (jars, promoting, donating treats or toys for K9 goody bags, etc), please feel free to contact any of the following:
Casandra Charbonneaux
Lancaster Catholic High School Students Anthony and Niklaus Charbonneaux
Bully Babies Pit Bull Rescue
Manheim Township Police Department
Landis Run Intermediate School's Sophie Kassan
And one of us will assist! Thank you so much for considering donating towards this critically needed, lifetime guaranteed body armor for our K9 heros. Also, big thanks to Officer Long for assisting us with ironing out the details and Officer Michele Klinger for her exceptional photography skills!
Updates
Apologies for the late update, I want to let everyone know that Manheim Township Police Department received their K9 armor at the start of the summer thanks to your generosity. Our family is so greatful that you helped us to give the gift of safety to K9 Ruck and K9 Zeke, thank you, truly from the bottom of our hearts. Without such a wonderful community, this wouldn't have been possible
