Officer James McWhorter was killed in a vehicle crash near the Agricultural Inspection Station on I-95 in Yulee, Florida on February 12th, 2022. He was crossing from the northbound inspection station to the southbound inspection station when his vehicle was struck by an oncoming pickup truck. The occupants of the pickup truck suffered non-fatal injuries. Tragically Officer McWhorter succumbed to his injuries. Officer McWhorter served with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services - Office of Agricultural Law Enforcement for just over 2 years and is survived by his four young children and his fiancé.
