On July 11, Daniel returned home from work to find Morgan unresponsive and breathing irregularly. Her kids were home in bed at that time. After arriving at the hospital and having testing done, doctors found a mass on her brain. She remained unresponsive and was flown to a larger hospital over 2 hours away from her home. The next morning after receiving more scans at the larger hospital, it was determined that she had zero brain function and was pronounced at 12:34 P.M. on July 12. She remained on a ventilator with the hope of being a candidate for organ donation. Following further testing, the mass on her brain was found to be cancerous, and the cancer was spread throughout her body, disqualifying her from being an organ donor. The hospital kept her on the ventilator to allow time for family to arrive and say their final goodbyes to her body. On July 13, she was removed from the ventilator, and her heart finally stopped beating.
Daniel and Morgan had just celebrated 9 years of marriage, and their two children are ages 8 and 6. Funds will be used to pay for funeral costs as well as aid the family while they grieve. Memorial services have not been finalized yet, but will be shared once determined.
