The North Myrtle Beach Police Department has created the Junior K-9 Team to recognize children in and around the North Myrtle Beach area for good grades and behavior. This school program works with participating public and private schools to recognize kids each month. Once nominated, our K-9 team will hold a ceremony for the children, where they will be officially "sworn in" to the Junior K-9 team. During the ceremony, they will "pin" their name onto one of our K9s to wear for the month they've been nominated for. As a reward for their good grades and behavior, the children will receive promotional gifts sporting our mascot, "Leo."
This program is a fun new way to bring our agency closer to our community's children and show good behavior is rewarded! It helps us (police officers) bring school programs back like we had when we were in school. Programs like DARE and McGruff the Crime Dog helped law enforcement meet kids in a positive environment!
We are funding this program 100% off of our community's donations....not one penny of your money goes to other functions in our agency. What we get from you is spent on our community's children....YOUR kids. Please consider donating to this amazing cause and invest in our community's future!
Our program is also on Facebook. Like and Share the "North Myrtle Beach Junior K9 Unit" for updates on the program!
