On October 12, 2022 Officer Alex Hamzy, Officer Alec Iurato and Sergeant Dustin DeMonte responded to a domestic disturbance call. As the three officers arrived on scene, a suspect ambushed all three officers. Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte were killed by the suspect. Officer Iurato was struck by gunfire, returned fire and killed the suspect.
This fundraiser will directly benefit Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte’s families. Thank you so much for your support.

We offer our a Deepest Condolences to the families of Officers Dustin DeMonte and Alex Hamzy, as well as the entire Bristol Police Community. How fortunate we were to have such compassionate and dedicated men protecting and serving our community. The youth of our city were also blessed with wonderful role models. They are true heroes! Our prayers and gratitude go out to Officer Alec Iurato for your amazing display of composure and bravery under extreme circumstances.
