On October 12, 2022 Officer Alex Hamzy, Officer Alec Iurato and Sergeant Dustin DeMonte responded to a domestic disturbance call. As the three officers arrived on scene, a suspect ambushed all three officers. Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte were killed by the suspect. Officer Iurato was struck by gunfire, returned fire and killed the suspect.
This fundraiser will directly benefit Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte’s families. Thank you so much for your support.

I ppent half my life in Bristol and always had full respect for the city police department...everyone of the officers I met when I was a kid and as a young adult, were warm and stand-up people. So sad to hear the loss of these two officers who followed in the tradition of the Bristol Police department, who always put the community and people of Bristol first.
