On October 12, 2022 Officer Alex Hamzy, Officer Alec Iurato and Sergeant Dustin DeMonte responded to a domestic disturbance call. As the three officers arrived on scene, a suspect ambushed all three officers. Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte were killed by the suspect. Officer Iurato was struck by gunfire, returned fire and killed the suspect.
This fundraiser will directly benefit Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte’s families. Thank you so much for your support.

There are no words that can express how sorry we are for the loss of these two heroes. They died tragically in service to their community. May they rest on peace. May God grant their families the strength to overcome the overwhelming grief they are experiencing and know that they are in our thoughts and prayers.
My best to both families. My heart goes out to every officer, but nothing is worse than an ambushed officer!
