On October 12, 2022 Officer Alex Hamzy, Officer Alec Iurato and Sergeant Dustin DeMonte responded to a domestic disturbance call. As the three officers arrived on scene, a suspect ambushed all three officers. Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte were killed by the suspect. Officer Iurato was struck by gunfire, returned fire and killed the suspect.
This fundraiser will directly benefit Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte’s families. Thank you so much for your support.

I lost my father earlier this year in very different circumstances, but very unexpectedly. And I lost my grandmother this week, so I know how overwhelming grief can be. My heart goes out to the families of these two officers and all those who loved and cared for them.

Our hearts break for the Hamzy and DeMonte families. There are no words to express how sorry we are that this has happened to these two fine officers who were doing their jobs protecting their community. Prayers also for Officer larato and grateful that he survived.
