On October 12, 2022 Officer Alex Hamzy, Officer Alec Iurato and Sergeant Dustin DeMonte responded to a domestic disturbance call. As the three officers arrived on scene, a suspect ambushed all three officers. Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte were killed by the suspect. Officer Iurato was struck by gunfire, returned fire and killed the suspect.
This fundraiser will directly benefit Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte’s families. Thank you so much for your support.

I've never met either officer but I feel the loss. My heart breaks everyday for the families and the brothers and sisters on the force. I went Friday night to the vigil and felt a closeness to the officers and all the lives they have touched. I will continue to pray for the families and the Bristol Police Department. My blue lights shine every night!
