On October 12, 2022 Officer Alex Hamzy, Officer Alec Iurato and Sergeant Dustin DeMonte responded to a domestic disturbance call. As the three officers arrived on scene, a suspect ambushed all three officers. Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte were killed by the suspect. Officer Iurato was struck by gunfire, returned fire and killed the suspect.
This fundraiser will directly benefit Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte’s families. Thank you so much for your support.

Just want to say these 2 officer's were great guys. I know we met each other through calls for something always going on at my house. You had a job to do. I never thought that in a million years that something so senseless like this would happen here in Bristol CT.. Sending Prayer's to everyone that knew you guys. Heartfelt condolences to the loved ones of these selfless community servicemen. May God bless them with comfort and hope and may they know that their sacrifice and their heroism will always be remembered. I pray for strength for the families and friends to take their time for grieving and when they are ready, the strength to go on and live the life these officers would have wanted for them. I know your pain. I lost my son in 2015 and I am still here to say so only through strength from above.
