On October 12, 2022 Officer Alex Hamzy, Officer Alec Iurato and Sergeant Dustin DeMonte responded to a domestic disturbance call. As the three officers arrived on scene, a suspect ambushed all three officers. Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte were killed by the suspect. Officer Iurato was struck by gunfire, returned fire and killed the suspect.
This fundraiser will directly benefit Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte’s families. Thank you so much for your support.

Tom and I spent five years in Bristol before he retired in 2019 and we relocated to Florida. This happens in other cities and towns, not Bristol CT, right? This has been such an unbelievable shock and I cannot watch the coverage without crying. So awful. There just are no words. We are praying for the families, coworkers, friends, anyone who has been touched by this, and for complete and total healing for Officer Alex Iurato. May God bless you all with His Peace and an overwhelming sense of His Love.
