On October 12, 2022 Officer Alex Hamzy, Officer Alec Iurato and Sergeant Dustin DeMonte responded to a domestic disturbance call. As the three officers arrived on scene, a suspect ambushed all three officers. Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte were killed by the suspect. Officer Iurato was struck by gunfire, returned fire and killed the suspect.
This fundraiser will directly benefit Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte’s families. Thank you so much for your support.

I’ve been a Police Officer in this anti police state for 18 years, I am so sorry for your loss and if I could, I would donate both of my legs and arms to bring these fine men back…. They are heroes and will be remembered eternally as such Our system has failed us, our leaders and politicians have failed us, starting at the top of every politician in CT. all the way down. We have emboldened criminals and handcuffed our police. Blood is on their hands and they know it, Their thoughts and prayers and showing up at Vigils to show face can’t hide what they really stand for or believe anymore.
