To friends and family. One of our own needs our help. We are reaching out today on behalf of Miss Sounia Wilson, a 911 First Responder and a veteran serving over 30 years with the NYPD where she retired as a Lieutenant in August 2020. In 2008 while still on duty, she was diagnosed with Lupus, which is an autoimmune disease that affects the body's defense system and causes harm to organs and tissues, such as the kidneys. In December of last year, Sounia’s illness worsened, and she recently began receiving dialysis due to Stage 5 renal failure. Sounia faces a critical health battle. While she undergoes dialysis, she is in urgent need of a kidney transplant. The financial strain of all the medical expenses not covered will become a financial hardship to Sounia and her family.
We're reaching out to our community for help. Your generous contribution will assist in securing the necessary medical procedures that Sounia desperately needs. It will also provide comfort and relief to someone who has selflessly served and protected our community. Every donation, no matter the amount, will bring us one step closer to ensuring she receives the care that will help her on the road to recovery. Please help in any way that you can. Thank you for your compassion and support.
