Stand With Our Son - A Veteran, Father, and Man of Honor
Their story
As parents - and now grandparents - we never expected to find ourselves in this position, reaching out for help. We've always believed in working hard, taking care of our own, and keeping our heads held high through difficult times. Asking for support doesn't come easily to us, but this is different. This is about our son - and our beautiful granddaughter.
Our son Darren is a military veteran currently serving in the reserves. He is also a single father who has fought tirelessly to win custody of his 3 year old daughter. That battle was long and painful, but justice prevailed. He now has full custody, and he and our granddaughter live with us as he works to rebuild a stable, loving life for the two of them.
Unfortunately, soon after divorce papers were served, his ex-wife made false allegations that led to military legal proceedings. These are separate from the custody case and have dragged on, putting his reputation, future and career aspirations in law enforcement at risk.
We know our son. We know his heart, his integrity, and his commitment - to God, his daughter, his country, and his community. We believe in him without question. But belief alone doesn't pay for the legal defense he needs to defend himself and clear his name.
This is why we're reaching out. We are doing everything we can to support him, but the legal costs have become too great to bear alone. We're asking for help - not because we want to, but because our son and granddaughter need it.
If you're able to donate, know that every dollar will go directly toward legal fees for his defense and the fight to clear his name. And if you can't give, your prayers, encouragement, and shares mean the world to us.
