Catt Fleetwood and her team at Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation are proud to head up this fundraiser to purchase one Talus Airflow System for each Deputy Sheriff in Franklin County. It is Catt’s goal to bring together business and civic leaders in her community to collectively demonstrate in a meaningful way their sense of deep appreciation for those who protect and serve the people of Franklin County.
And how will this fundraiser accomplish this goal? The Talus Airflow System (TAS) is a revolutionary innovation created right here in the Triangle by a former dispatcher whose goal it is to see each and every member of law enforcement wear the ballistic gear required to protect them on the beat. Ballistic gear is pretty awful to wear, though – it’s heavy, it stinks, and it’s even painful. It’s so bad for some officers that they forgo wearing the gear altogether – a dangerous and unacceptable solution.
The TAS is designed to solve all the problems associated with wearing any kind of gear - problems such as heat, weight, stench, and discomfort – making it much more likely that officers will wear their assigned gear and be safer on the job. The TAS also has proven through ballistic testing to significantly reduce the potential for internal injuries in the case of a bullet hit to the gear.
Your contribution of $120 will outfit one Sheriff's Deputy with his or her own Talus Airflow System. And your contribution of any amount to this effort will help keep cool and comfortable those whose job it is to keep you safe and sound.
