It is with profound sadness that we share with each of you the unexpected passing of Chris Bergendahl.
During the morning hours of Sunday, September 27th, Chris was driving to work when he was struck head on by a wrong way driver on Rt. 58 in Chesapeake, VA. While surrounded by his family, Chris fought valiantly but succumbed to his injuries early afternoon on Wednesday, September 30th, 2026. Chris leaves behind his two children, their mother Jenn, and Chris' fiancé Carisa. Chris' family will need us in the days, months and years to come.
Chris served in the U.S. Army from 2005 to 2012 where he was a Crew Chief on a UH-60 Black Hawk and Staff Sergeant, completing two deployments to Iraq with a MEDEVAC unit. Chris' caring and compassionate nature continued after his service when he entered into the medical field as a CT Technologist.
Chris' boisterous personality was unparalleled, bringing laughter and smiles to everyone he met. There are just no words to convey the grief and sorrow we are all feeling.
100% of the funds raised on this platform will go directly to Chris' family.
Any donations and support is greatly appreciated during this unimaginable time.

I am so sorry! Chris was an extremely nice person and very compassionate to his patients!
The Calvery family's prayers are with Chris' family and loved ones. You will be missed.
God bless you Chris and your family. Our prayers are with you.
I did not know Chris personally, but I am praying for his family and everyone grieving this tremendous loss. May God provide strength when they feel weak, peace when there are no answers, and comfort in knowing that He is near to the brokenhearted. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4
My deepest sympathies to Chris’ family and friends.
