On August 19, we suffered the loss of one of our brothers, Michael Mendolia. A dedicated police officer and beloved husband and father. He gave 22 years of his life serving communities across New York City and Nassau County. To those who had the pleasure of working alongside Mike, he was more than a colleague, he was and always will be family. There was no mistaking him on a scene from his command presence to his boisterous laugh, you knew when Mike was around and you knew he had your back.
He is survived by his wife and son who are now facing an unimaginable loss. We are starting this fundraiser to help ease their financial burden and extra childcare needs during this difficult time. No amount is too small. If you are unable to contribute, please consider sharing this link.

Mike was a good friend in high school. I remember how much he loved his Mercury Cougar and how he would come out to lunch and to hang out with us at night and was always kind and fun. We will be praying for Mike's wife and children. He was a good man. Wish I had taken the opportunity to reconnect.
