It is with profound sadness, pain and devastation that we share with each of you the passing of Yorktown Police Department Lieutenant Kenneth Sgroi. Kenny took ill very suddenly, fought valiantly and hard. Kenny was surrounded by loved ones. His wife Anne, mother Alice and sister Pam also a Police Officer in a neighboring jurisdiction were with him every step of the way. They showed amazing strength and courage, as did Kenny. Kenny fought hard but succumbed to his illness January 2nd, 2023 at approximately 8pm. Anne and her two young children will need us in the days, months and years to come. There are just are no words to convey the grief & sorrow we are all feeling.
Kenny was a family man and everything he did was for his wife and children. Kenny served his community with honor and pride, deciding to raise his family in the same community he worked in. Kenny served the people of NY as a Law Enforcement officer for over 16 years. Anyone that came into contact with him would see his eagerness to serve and help others with compassion and honor. The world lost a great and honorable man, husband, father, Uncle and brother. It is with the utmost love, respect and honor that we pray for Kenny, his wife Anne and his two young children.

Kenny and I attended the same police academy together back in 2007…the Zone XIV Law Enforcement Academy of Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office. He was a nice guy, always willing to help me out when I had bad days. May he rest in peace, and praying for strength and peace for his family, as well as his “blue family”.
Anne, I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your beautiful children, and your family.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Sgroi family at this most difficult time. Rest in peace Kenny. You will never be forgotten. Thank you for your service! Hon. Gary J. Raniolo & Georgeann Raniolo
May God's love bring you comfort and peace during this sad and difficult time. Praying for you all.
