There are some people in life who are simply always there. The ones who show up when you need them. The ones who help without being asked. The ones who spend their lives protecting, caring for, and fighting for other people.Donna “DC” Corapi is one of those people. After a career serving and protecting others as an NYPD Detective, Donna is now facing a fight that no one ever wants to face: 9/11-related cancer.Donna has just underwent surgery and her wife Kerry got the call she is out and it went well. Donna is expected to be out of work for approximately 6–8 weeks while she recovers.Anyone who knows DC knows that asking for help isn’t what she does. She is usually the one GIVING it. That’s why I am asking for her.Donna currently works as a school security guard, and being unable to work during her recovery is going to create a financial strain on the family. At home are the people who mean absolutely everything to her — Kerry, Kennedy, and Dallas — along with the animals on their farm. While Donna concentrates on fighting, healing, and getting strong enough to return to work, the everyday responsibilities don’t stop. The bills don’t stop. The farm doesn’t stop. The animals still need to be cared for.And most importantly, her family still needs their wife and mom. What I don’t want Donna worrying about while she’s recovering is how everything is going to get paid for. I want her worrying about ONE thing: Getting better. 💙If we all come together, even the smallest donations can add up to something incredible. $5, $10, $20 — whatever you are able to give can help ease some of the financial burden and allow this family to concentrate on what truly matters. And if you aren’t able to donate, please, please share this. You never know who it may reach.DC has spent so much of her life showing up for other people. Now it’s our turn to show up for her.Let’s remind Donna, Kerry, Kennedy, and Dallas that they are not walking through this alone. We all know DC is a fighter. We know she’s tough. And we know she’s going to give this fight everything she has.But even the strongest people deserve to have an army standing behind them!!Let’s be DC’s army. 💙Donate if you can. Share if you can’t.Pray, send love, and help us surround this beautiful family with all the support we possibly can.DC, you’ve spent your life taking care of everyone else. Now let us take care of you. 💙
