K9 Officer Matt Miller and his K9 partner Rebel were on duty the night they were hit by an oncoming vehicle head-on.

Officer Matt Miller of the Chewelah Police Department was involved in a two-vehicle collision on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 while on duty. Matt’s vehicle was struck head-on at a high rate of speed by another vehicle that lost control on Hwy 395. Matt had to be flown by a Life Flight helicopter to a Spokane hospital and has had to undergo several surgeries for his traumatic injuries. Matt’s police dog, Rebel, was also in the vehicle when it was struck and Rebel has suffered minor injuries requiring stitches. Rebel is doing well and is being boarded at a local kennel while he waits for Matt to recover so that he can come home. Officer Miller will be home recovering from the major injuries he endured caused by the collision until at least May 2021.

This account has been set up to assist Matt and his family with any unforeseen expenses during his projected long recovery period.

Please donate any amount you are able to and share this campaign through your social media networks in order to raise enough donations so that Officer Miller can focus on his full recovery.
