This morning, Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Julio Cidron put on his uniform and went to work like he has countless times before — committed to protecting the people of Florida.
But today was different.
While on duty along the Dolphin Expressway, Trooper Cidron was violently attacked and stabbed multiple times while serving our community. In a matter of seconds, a routine day turned into a fight for survival.
Thankfully, Trooper Cidron survived the attack.
But the road ahead will not be easy.
Trooper Cidron is not just a trooper — he is a husband and the father of a 2-year-old boy who depends on him. Because of the severity of his injuries, he will be out of work for a significant period of time while he recovers.
During this time, his family will face the emotional and financial weight that comes with a traumatic line-of-duty injury.
This is where our community steps in. Let’s show Trooper Cidron and his family that they are not fighting this battle alone.

My husband is a retired Sgt. Deputy Sheriff. In his 27 years with the department he was injured seriously three times. We are so thankful God spared your life that day. Your calling is not done. Praying for a complete recovery. From a fellow law enforcement family in Illinois.
Prayers for the Trooper and his family.
