Dave Grodner is 37 years old. He is a husband, dog dad, brother, son, uncle, friend, volunteer firefighter just to name a few of his titles. For the last year Dave has been undergoing the fight of his life as he battles stage 4 lung cancer. His wife Danielle has been by his side through it all. He has also luckily had the support of his family, friends, and the fire department. Through a year full of crazy ups and downs Dave has never given up. He is always positive about what is going on around him and tackles each treatment with a smile on his face and the determination to beat this disease.

Dave's Story:

On October 18, 2022 Dave was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. The next few weeks would be a whirlwind. Ten days after finding the mass on his lung we found that the cancer was also in his brain. He had brain surgery on October 31, 2022 to remove a large tumor. He went through radiation and chemo. He then continued on to have immunotherapy. In March he had a seizure that was caused by radiation necrosis that caused a lot of swelling in his brain. In July his treatment plan changed as we found some new small brain tumors. They were radiated and Dave's treatment plan was adjusted to include new medication that was targeted towards brain tumors. Most recently Dave is again experiencing radiation necrosis in his brain. The tumors dying is causing a lot of swelling on his brain. This is in turn causing Dave to have issues with mobility. His right side is very weak and causes him pain. He is using a walker to get around.

Unfortunately Dave's fight came to an end on October 15th 2023. He left behind his beautiful wife Danielle and his fur baby Paisely.

We are hoping this fundraiser will help offset the medical bills and debts that are already existing and will help Danielle as she navigates a life without her husband.

On October 15, 2017 I met the man of my dreams. On October 15, 2023 I was with him as he took his last breath. Dave gave me a love unlike any love I've known before. Dave is still in the hospital. Over the next few days he will be transferring to a rehabilitation center while we get full time care squared away so he can return home. We also hope that this will help him regain some of his strength. As always Dave is continuing to fight and to do everything he needs to do to get better. We thank you all for your kindness.

Hello everyone.

Thank you so much for the love and support.  Dave is currently in the hospital recovering from a surgery to remove an infection. He is feeling ok but will be here for a few days while we determine what the next steps will be in his treatment.
