On Sunday, June 1, 2026, fellow members of the service, Police Officer Samina Alam and her husband, Police Officer Syed Alam, experienced a life-changing tragedy. While at home with their children and mother-in-law, their fire alarm suddenly began sounding. Officer Samina Alam quickly went to investigate and was met with flames and smoke coming from the basement. With only moments to react, the family safely escaped their home, grateful to have made it out together.

Although the fire was contained before spreading throughout the entire house, it caused significant damage, and the Fire Marshal has declared the home uninhabitable. In an instant, the Alam family lost the comfort, security, and stability of their home. They are currently living in a hotel while trying to navigate the difficult road ahead and rebuild their lives.

As members of our law enforcement family, Samina and Syed have dedicated their lives to serving and protecting others. Now, they need our support.
