My husband, Donald Ray Steen, has been told that his heart has irreparable damage and that he is in need of an ICD until he can get a transplant. He has a rare blood type and there is little hope of finding a match. He does not have life insurance since he has had 2 heart attacks. Donald Ray is a Marine that served during the Gulf War era. He also worked for fire/rescue, EMS, and police departments in Horry and Georgetown Counties during his working career until he was deemed 100% unemployable by the military after 3 failed back surgeries from a nose dive in an LAV that broke his back. We have a 25 year old son, 15 and 11 year old daughters, and a precious 2 year old baby boy. His medical expenses are a concern as well as care for the family in days and years to come.
