Hi - I'm a SGT in the Georgia National Guard. One of my fellow soldiers is going through a tough time and needs some help getting money to buy a used vehicle. He is the sole provider for his family and recently totaled their only car. The good news is that everyone involved in the accident is safe. The tough news is that his wife had their 3rd child a few weeks before the accident, he had already decided to ETS, and he has no savings. To get to his apprenticeship program he walks, catches a bus, then a friend picks him up to drive him the rest of the way. He does this to and from work since he doesn't have a car.
He and I have recently started having a weekly call to create a list of goals, build a budget, and discuss any financial questions he has. Life is tough for him right now, but he's doing the right thing by continuing to work and study. I have been impressed by his efforts to provide for his family and his humility in asking for guidance. He doesn't know that I created this fundraiser for him. (He’s the one kneeling on the paladin in the picture)
Our goal is to raise $5,000. I will match the first $500 raised.
