Linda Konrad of Good Canine Academy has been training dogs her entire life. She is one of the top canine trainers in the country and specializes in training service dogs for veterans and first responders. Linda is one of the few who are nationally certified to train dogs to detect early stage cancer in humans which is critically important to saving lives.
For years Linda has provided veterans and first responders battling PTSD with specially trained PTSD service dogs. She matches a dog to the hero in need at absolutely no charge to them. Good Canine Academy operates solely on donations and Linda has slowly been building her program by transforming her land into a peaceful retreat and building "tiny homes" where heroes can stay on her property while they bond with their new best friend.
In addition, Linda has been working to help numerous small law enforcement agencies from the rural areas of Texas. She has been trying to raise money to build an indoor training facility which would allow for safe training in any type of weather.
Unfortunately, the recent arctic weather that has crippled Texas has not only caused dangerous living conditions for Linda and her four legged heroes, it has set her back in achieving these financial goals. As a result of the record low temperatures, Linda's main water line broke leaving her and her pack without water. She has been struggling to physically carry water to her property from 30 miles away and which has created a tremendous hardship and financial strain for her.
22 veterans commit suicide each day and more first responders die by their own hand than in the line of duty every year because of PTSD. Countless veterans have gone on record describing how their service dog has saved their life and I will personally attest to the power my service dog has when it comes to my own mental health. Dogs are more than just animals and pets. There is scientific medical proof of what happens in the human brain when we interact with them. There is a proof they are referred to as "man's best friend".
Please help me support a Hero's Hero in donating what you can. Every dollar counts and will help provide the resources necessary to save lives in the veteran and first responder communities.
God Bless, Thank you and stay safe!
