First Responders
Hispanic Society Disaster Relief Fund
We created the Hispanic Society Disaster Relief Fund to provide immediate help to people in crisis. Our focus is to provide financial support and other forms of resources to people who have experienced a severe event that has resulted in more enormous losses than usual.
Throughout the history of the Hispanic Society, we have deployed volunteer members to conduct wellness checks, serve as translators, organize fundraisers, and provide medical aid during catastrophic events. We have been instrumental in providing emergency equipment, water, and basic supplies to Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Mexico after disastrous Hurricanes and Earthquakes.
The New York City Police Department Hispanic Society was incorporated, in 1957. The Hispanic Society pledges to continue in the tradition set forth by our Founding Members to assist our members, communities, and other countries.
In recent events, Hurricane Fiona ripped through Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Haiti causing flooding and widespread damage. Hurricane Ian knocked out power to all of Cuba and is now heading to Florida.
Please consider giving any amount to support the Hispanic Society in its humanitarian efforts to assist the people living in the areas directly affected.
