On July 31st, Jojo left work and went to Prompt Care because she simply wasn’t feeling well. She had no idea that walking through those doors would be the beginning of a journey that would completely change her life.

What started as a trip to Prompt Care quickly turned into days filled with blood draws, transfusions, tests, and uncertainty. Then came the diagnosis that no one ever wants to hear: APL — acute promyelocytic leukemia.

Jojo was immediately transferred to the University of Chicago, where she began treatment. And now, more than a month later, she is still in the hospital, fighting every single day to get her numbers where they need to be.

Through all of this, Jojo has had one thing on her mind: getting home to her babies. 

She should be worrying about being a mom, making memories with her kids, going to work, and living her life, not spending weeks in a hospital room fighting a disease she never saw coming.

This has been incredibly hard emotionally for Jojo and her family, and unfortunately, the financial burden that comes with a battle like this is just another weight they shouldn’t have to carry.

So we are asking for your help.

Our hope is to raise enough money to ease some of that financial stress and allow Jojo and her family to put their energy where it belongs: on healing, fighting, and getting her home.
