A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, who served during the Vietnam War from 1961 to 1964 on the Buddy System, has earned his wings (10/28/24). Mr. John Valentine was a gentle soul and a good, loving man. During his time at Camp Lejeune, he was a lineman. He served his country with honor and pride. Mr. Valentine had a very long career as a lineman with the Edison Company following his service in the military. He was also a volunteer firefighter.
As a longtime neighbor of Mr. Valentine, I will say he was indeed loved by all his neighbors (including my two cats, Moxie and Milk, who ventured into his yard every day!!!!). He always had a smile on his face. He and his wife, Kathleen, enjoyed the outdoors and tending to their yard. Mr. Valentine is survived by his wife, Kathleen, and his five children, their significant others, and his grandchildren.
Any help is appreciated in order to ensure that Mr. Valentine receives the send-off he is so deserving of.
You may or may not know that all benefits are not provided by the VA. His wish was to be cremated (which is not covered). He will receive the Folding of the American Flag, Service Members and the playing of Taps.Kerry Collin’s
