What if your family member, co-worker, local delivery person or literally anyone you run into daily was battling something internally. Anyone on that long list could be a current or former veteran, cop, fireman, doctor, nurse, an emt or paramedic. These people protect our rights, freedoms, and lives. They run in, when everyone is running out, stay calm when everyone can’t. They run into the flames, gunfire and medical emergencies when everyone cowers and runs the other way. They do this with no regard for the aftermath that will ensue in their minds and lives. It affects their relationships, jobs, people skills, emotions and overall health. Ptsd, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, anger issues, isolationism and paranoia are only a short list of things that these groups may develop as a result of their duty. You may not even know that someone close to you may be hiding their symptoms. This can affect ANYONE! Dogs are a known, proven, efficient, and effective form of assistance and therapy. Service animals are one of, if not the best forms of companionship, emotional support, and partnership. For someone who needs reassurance and a feeling of safety, or sometimes even their own silent but personal rescue worker, this is where service dogs shine. The goal of this fund is to help with startup costs, both legally and federally, to obtain tax exempt status to begin a non profit organization. It will offer service dogs to the categories listed above at minimal cost. It will teach our heroes how to be proper handlers for their dogs. The organization will continue their treatment and rehab through group programs, public speaking, testimonial workshops, and group activities/events. Everyone who donates can choose to be updated along the way and be given a chance to come and see the work in progress. You will even have a chance to attend some of the workshops. The small donation of just one dollar can help. It can be the missing puzzle piece in someone’s story. Please give what you can to help anyone who may be suffering.
