We are restoring a NYPD 1987 Chevrolet Caprice police car that an officer was murdered in in 1988.in order to make it into a memorial for future officers to learn from. And make a scholarship fund in his name with funds not used on the vehicle.
Updates
Thank you all for your donations and support over these months. From the comments we’ve read, we are so grateful and proud for the opportunity to save a piece of our history that is attached to a life lost. This memorial will stand for all time in memory of Edward Byrne and all the others who made the ultimate sacrifice. They will always be our brothers and sisters. I can tell you all, this memorial will make you emotional. Thank you from us all!

Non-Donor Comments

I am a former Long Island volunteer fireman and a former Colorado State Trooper. I currently volunteer at the Hall of Flame Museum of Firefighting and was the chief restorer for the 1996 FDNY Rescue 4 rig that responded to 9-11. I realize the importance of this project. Please accept my donation and let me know if you are going to have a dedication ceremony for the car when it is completed as I'd like to attend.
