We are restoring a NYPD 1987 Chevrolet Caprice police car that an officer was murdered in in 1988.in order to make it into a memorial for future officers to learn from. And make a scholarship fund in his name with funds not used on the vehicle.

Thank you all for your donations and support over these months. From the comments we’ve read, we are so grateful and proud for the opportunity to save a piece of our history that is attached to a life lost. This memorial will stand for all time in memory of Edward Byrne and all the others who made the ultimate sacrifice. They will always be our brothers and sisters. I can tell you all, this memorial will make you emotional. Thank you from us all!

I’m a Ret. Lt. CDS … I had 1 year on the streets of the South Bronx when this horrible crime occurred. My first of way too many LOD funerals. I saw this RMP on the pier @ a Barrier Detail assignment. Gut wrenching … but thank you for your efforts. Never forget. STAY SAFE.
On behalf of myself and 2 other members of my family that were on the NYPD, my father and my nephew, it is an honor to donate to this worthy cause. It is a shame that every Police Officer lost in the LOD is not honored in this way. You guys are doing God's work with this project. It seems like it was just yesterday I was standing at attention with thousands of other Officers at Eddie's Funeral. We never forget. THANK YOU!
