Frank, Drew, and other colleagues from the Pittsburgh-area public safety community have committed to running the Pittsburgh Marathon on May 7, 2023.

Drew will be running his first full marathon, and Frank will be running his first half-marathon.

Those of us “Running For Resilience” are motivated to do so by different personal reasons.  For some of us, the Marathon has always been a lifelong “bucket list” goal.  For others, this race is a response to a serious “wake up call” about our health, and a step towards overcoming some unexpected medical issues that have recently arisen.

We are using this race as an opportunity to raise money for a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization called The Resiliency Project.

The Resiliency Project seeks to end the epidemic of first responder suicide by treating post-traumatic stress and building resilience.  They accomplish this by providing peer support, advocacy and funding for treatment, as well as recovery and psychological services for first responders and their family members.

Their mission is to "end the silent suffering" that has led to a terrifying increase in the rates of suicide among police, fire, and EMS, over recent years.  They are dedicated to being the "first responders" for First Responders, by smashing the stigma surrounding asking for help.

We had the pleasure of meeting Resiliency Project founder Nick Wilson at a recent training seminar on Coping with First Responder Trauma.  It’s rare to find someone as passionate about their mission as Nick, and it’s impossible to express just how vital that mission is.

We collaboratively support the mission of the Resiliency Project, and thank you for sponsoring our completion of the 2023 Pittsburgh Marathon and Half Marathon.  Your donation helps enable important work in an area that is deeply personal to each of us.
