On October 12, 2022 Officer Alex Hamzy, Officer Alec Iurato and Sergeant Dustin DeMonte responded to a domestic disturbance call. As the three officers arrived on scene, a suspect ambushed all three officers. Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte were killed by the suspect. Officer Iurato was struck by gunfire, returned fire and killed the suspect.
This fundraiser will directly benefit Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte’s families. Thank you so much for your support.

To the families and brother officers of Sergeant DeMonte and Officer Hamzy. There are no words to express to the families and Bristol police officers the loss we feel as members of the law enforcement community and as brother officers. This was a tragic event that has sadden everyone. May Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte Rest In Peace. Officer Lurato, you acted heroically and appropriately.
