On October 12, 2022 Officer Alex Hamzy, Officer Alec Iurato and Sergeant Dustin DeMonte responded to a domestic disturbance call. As the three officers arrived on scene, a suspect ambushed all three officers. Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte were killed by the suspect. Officer Iurato was struck by gunfire, returned fire and killed the suspect.
This fundraiser will directly benefit Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte’s families. Thank you so much for your support.

Our hearts are with you - Kelly grew up in Bristol and her cousin Tim R. was part of the BPD for many years - we grieve with you and are grateful and humbled by the ultimate sacrifice made by Sergeant Demonte and Officer Hamzy….this is a small symbol of our deepest appreciation for the ultimate sacrifice made by these gentlemen and those who love them…
