On October 12, 2022 Officer Alex Hamzy, Officer Alec Iurato and Sergeant Dustin DeMonte responded to a domestic disturbance call. As the three officers arrived on scene, a suspect ambushed all three officers. Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte were killed by the suspect. Officer Iurato was struck by gunfire, returned fire and killed the suspect.
This fundraiser will directly benefit Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte’s families. Thank you so much for your support.

We are from a suburb of Raleigh, NC where the other incident happened this past week. It’s all heart breaking. Just know around here 99% backtheblue. You respected. And we teach our children that. Peace be with these families of Dustin Demonte and Alex Hamzy.
