I am a volunteer firefighter (lieutenant) and I recently had my fifth spine surgery, this time I'm recovering from an infection I got after this last fusion on my cervical spine. I have had 2 cervical fusions I also have had a nerve stimulator placed and then it had to be removed, but this last surgery has been the hardest. I have been told I will be disabled for the rest of my life but I refuse to accept that as an answer for me as one of my main goals is being able to go on calls with my son when he is old enough to join.
